153 communities benefit from Osun CSDA projects, Abokede reveals

At least 153 communities in Osun State have benefitted from the multi sectoral micro projects of the State Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA) from March 2023 till date .

The General Manager of the agency, Mrs. Funmi Aderonke Abokede, made this known on Thursday at a Newpoint programme of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Osogbo, Osun State.

Abokede, said Osun CSDA, which is an agency of the Osun Government responsible for funding multi sectoral micro projects initiated by the communities themselves.

She said the projects which covers water, sanitation, health and education, have impacted on 185,825 beneficiaries which comprises of 91,286 male and 94,439 female.

The CSDA boss also disclosed that 176 micro projects and 64 lock- up shops in Atakumosa market have been completed while about 92 are ongoing.

According to her, ” the community that are benefitting contribute 5% and then State Government through our agency give 95% as grant to the communities for them to implement the project of their choice.

“176 micro-projects have been completed that cut across health,  education, water and sanitation at different locations in the state and 64 lock-up shops at Atakumosa market. We have 38 under education, 11 under health, 121 under water and 6 under social economic  plus 64 lockup shops making 176 micro project and 64 lockup shops, 92 projects ongoing.”

“The vulnerable groups are not left out. The persons with disabilities have 5 clusters but the most vulnerable out of them is those with spinal cord injury, they need support for their medical attention many of them use adult Pampers, adult urinary bags they are the one the intervention have gone to for their health.”

Abokede commended the Ademola Adeleke led government for the support given to the agency in its quest to spread development across the nooks and crannies of the State.
