27-year-old woman arrested for allegedly stabbing lover to death in Imo

Twenty seven year old Oluchi Nzemechi from Uzoagba in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi to death.

According to the police, the suspect acknowledged during interrogation that her 31-year-old partner had involved her in online fraud, popularly known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’.

She admitted that an altercation erupted on Sunday when Kelechi refused to give her a piece of the claimed 250 million Rupiah they had stolen from a victim in Indonesia.

Oluchi alleged that during the argument, she stabbed him in the upper torso with a kitchen knife.

To conceal the crime, she reportedly left a letter on the deceased’s body that said, “You think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and child, including your family” before fleeing the scene.

According to the police, Oluchi and the deceased have a child together.

The Imo State Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, informed journalists that the culprit would have her day in court as soon as investigation is completed.
