349 ex- Ogun Councillors beg Abiodun to pay severance package, others

349 former councilors who served under the administration of the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, have again appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun, to pay their outstanding severance packages, furniture allowances, and unpaid salaries.

WesternPost reports the ex-councillors served between 2016 and 2019.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Kayode Olumide from Abeokuta South Local Government lamented the challenges they faced, revealing that life had become difficult for many.

Olumide pleaded with Abiodun to compassionately consider approving and directing the payment of their accumulated entitlements, highlighting the dire situation faced by some councilors, including health issues leading to fatalities.

He also used the medium to congratulate the Governor for receiving man of the year award from Silverbird television

“We want to use this medium to appeal to our amiable Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun to pay our outstanding severance packages, furniture allowances, and two months and 10 days of unpaid salary. We also want to congratulate him for wining man of the year award. This has shown the Governor has performed wonderfully well to the good people of the state.

The ex-councillors emphasized their loyalty and support to Abiodun’s administration, acknowledging his achievements.

Olumide concluded with a plea for the Governor to intervene, stating, “We are begging our Governor to approve and direct the payment of these entitlements to us so we can be able to set up ourselves, and life can be easy for us.”
