Abdulrazaq condoles traders over market inferno

The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has condoled the people of Offa, especially the business community over the fire incident at the Owode market.

AbdulRazaq said the development was one tragedy too many, adding that a team from the state emergency management agency had visited the market to take stock of the situation as well as deliver the government’s commiserations to the traders.

A statement issued by the his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye on Tuesday, said the fire incident again highlighted the need for all stakeholders to be more proactive in preventing fire outbreaks at home or in the marketplace.

The governor commended the fire service personnel for their prompt response, directed them to work more closely with marketers on modern fire prevention mechanisms and preparedness.

The Governor prayed to God to recompense the traders for their losses.
