Adamawa APC says Boss Mustapha’s suspension from party unconstitutional

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voided the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha by Gwadabawa Ward, Yola North Local Government Area of the party.

WesternPost had reported that the SGF was suspended by the APC executive at ward level for failing to work for the party’s success at the general elections.

But reacting on Thursday, the APC Adamawa State chapter in a statement by its Secretary, Raymond Chidama said the suspension was null and void.

He said contrary to the claims, the contributions of the SGF “towards sustaining and supporting the party is second to none and cannot be overemphasized”.

The statement reads: “The attention of the State working Committee under the leadership of State Acting Chairman, Samaila Tadawus was drawn to malicious publication purporting the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Barr. Boss Mustapha by Executives of Gwadabawa Ward, Yola Local Government Area.

“It is a known fact and worth mention that the contributions of Boss Mustapha towards sustaining and supporting the party is second to none and cannot be overemphasized. Therefore, any group hiding under the auspices of the party whom we also know are sponsored by the opposition to come out with a malicious publications at this critical time is highly condemnable.

“We hereby state clearly that such suspension is unconstitutional, null and void and is of no effect.

“Because the state working committee has warned the ward executives in the past to desist from this acts of targeting elders of the party and disregarding constitutional provision, appropriate sanctions will be applied after thorough investigations.

“Meanwhile, Local Government Executive Committee, Yola North is hereby directed to constitute a Disciplinary Committee immediately and recommend appropriate action.”
