Adamawa’s Binani becomes first elected female governor in Nigeria

Senator Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the governorship election in Adamawa State.

Binani, who thus become the first woman to be elected governor in Nigeria polled 409,909 to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and current governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri who polled 406,617.
