Operatives of Osun State Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun have arrested two men for allegedly burgling a shop.

The suspects identified as Toheeb Yekini, (35) and Yekini Sulikaleni, (30) years old, were from Iwo.

They were said to have been arrested on the spot of the crime Tuesday at the Oje Oniyan area in Iwo, after the operatives of  Iwo Command of the corps received a distress call around 11:30 am.

The suspects confessed to committing the crime and pleaded for mercy.

The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

He said upon the investigation, “the suspects admitted to committing the crime and this was not the first time committing the same act, as one of the culprits, Yekini Sulikaleni was an ex-convict jailed for the same act in the past.”

Adewinmbi advised residents to assist security agencies with reasonable intelligence information to tackle any potential security threat in the state.

The suspects have been handed over to the DSS for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
