Atiku deletes posts condemning Deborah’s gruesome murder in Sokoto

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has deleted posts on his social media condemning the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto by religious extremists.

Miss Samuel a 200 level student of the institution was murdered after she was accused of blaspheming Prophet Muhammed.

Atiku who is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) initially condemned the killing via a post on Twitter and Facebook accounts.

“There cannot be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends,” he tweeted.

The former vice president however deleted the posts and quickly deleted them after many northerners vowed not to vote him for his stand.

He thereafter distanced himself from the condolence message via another message on his Facebook page, claiming it was an unauthorised posting.

The presidential hopeful asked Nigerians to discard any message that didn’t come with his “A. A” initials.

“This evening I received information that a post was made that doesn’t agree with my orders. I use this to announce that any post without A. A. is not from me. May God protect us,” he wrote in Hausa.

His new stand has also caused uproar on social media with many condemning his actions.
