Basketmouth ends 12 years marriage with wife

Stand up comedian, Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has announced that he and his wife Elsie Okpocha have ended their 12 years old marriage.

The comedian disclosed this in a statement on his Instagram page on Thursday.

Basketmouth said the decision came after “much deliberations” between himself and his wife.

He added that they will continue to co-parent their children while urging the public to respect their decision.

“As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” he wrote.

“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”

Bright and Elsie tied the knot in 2010. The union has so far been blessed with three children.

In November last year, the duo lavished encomium on each other on their 11th wedding anniversary.

Basketmouth wrote: “Happy anniversary to you Elsie Okpocha, thanks for choosing me, thanks for saying yes, thanks for giving me a beautiful home and thank you for being my wife. Love you forever”.

On her part, Elsie added: “Forever and for always is what we will always be…. I love you till eternity baby. Happy 11th anniversary to us”.
