Borno APC stakeholders reaffirm loyalty to Tinubu, Governor Zulum

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Borno State have declared unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as the continued leadership of Vice President Kashim Shettima. This came during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday, April 13, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri.
The meeting, which brought together key political figures from across the state, was attended by the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori; Senate Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume and Kaka Shehu Lawan; and former Governor, Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan. Also present were former Nigerian ambassadors, members of the National and State Assemblies, the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, and top government officials, including commissioners and local government chairmen.
In a communiqué signed by Borno APC State Chairman Hon. Bello Ayuba and State Secretary Barr. Mustapha Loskuri, the party reaffirmed its commitment to the Tinubu-led federal administration and praised Vice President Shettima for his loyalty and dedication.
The stakeholders expressed “total confidence” in Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s administration, commending his efforts in tackling insecurity and rebuilding the state.
They further resolved that Borno would remain firmly within the APC fold, rejecting any attempts to merge with or defect to another political party. “It would be counterproductive to deviate from the principles and manifesto of the APC,” the communiqué stated, urging party members to remain united and uphold the progressive spirit that has guided the state since independence.
The meeting also emphasized the need for the APC leadership to strengthen internal democracy and called on the federal government to support infrastructure and oil exploration projects in the Northeast, particularly in Kolmani and along Lake Chad.
Amidst internal tensions, the stakeholders warned against moves by “some elements” to create disunity within the party and vowed to resist such efforts.
The meeting concluded with a strong appeal for unity, loyalty, and continued focus on delivering the APC’s developmental agenda in Borno State and Nigeria at large.
