Borno, Yobe indigenes in Kebbi pledge total support for APC presidential ticket

…declare full endorsement during solidarity visit to Maibindiga
The Borno/Yobe Community Cooperative Union, Kebbi State chapter has declared total support for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Union, an umbrella body of the people of Borno and Yobe states resident in Kebbi state, made this declaration while on a solidarity visit to the residence of a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK (Maibindiga) in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.
The Chairman of the Union, Malam Adam Ibrahim who led some members of the executive council on the visit, said their support which may be misconstrued as supporting the ticket because Kashim Shettima is one of them, explained that regardless of where he comes from, Shettima is eminently qualified and will be an asset for both the North in particular and the nation in general.
He called on Nigerians to vote on the basis of the capacity of each of the candidates in order to make the right choice that will give the nation the dream leadership it deserves. He said that sentiments of what ever color should be thrown to the dogs and merit should be the deciding factor.
Responding, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed thanked the Union for the visit and remarked that although he was born in Kebbi state, he was bred and buttered in Borno state having lived in the midst of the friendly and lovable people of Borno since 1979.
He noted that a vote for the APC presidential ticket is a debt repayment for the love the people of Lagos and Borno have demonstrated to Nigeria many years ago.
He said the role Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had played in the successes of the APC and Buhari in the 2015 and 2019 elections, after Buhari had failed on three previous occasions should not be lost on the people of the North. He also said that the fact that Borno has been second home to the people of the SOKEZA states of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara to the extent that there are towns across Borno state that are fully and wholly owned by the SOKEZA people attest to the quality of love Borno people have for their brothers.
According to him, Borno had remained faithful to the unity of Nigeria and has fully identified with the progress of the North by the way they supported the Sardauna of Sokoto Sir Ahmadu Bello to achieve groundbreaking development of infrastructure in the then Northern region in the 60s.
He urged for total support to the APC at all levels of the 2023 elections in order to entrench the cohesion and unity required to achieve dream results to move the nation on the fast lane of sustainable growth.
