BREAKING: Again, LASG uncovers ‘illegal’ settlement under Osborne bridge

Lagos State commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has disclosed that another illegal settlement has been discovered under the Osborne Bridge, Ikoyi.

Wahab stated this in a post via his X handle on Thursday, revealing that Lagos State Environmental Sanitation (LAGESC) officials have commenced immediate clearance operation.

He wrote: “Another illegal settlement was discovered under the Osborne Bridge, Ikoyi. Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial (KAI) commenced immediate clearance operation.”

This is coming hours after a similar discovery of an apartment nestled beneath the Dolphin Estate bridge in Ikoyi.

A total number of 86 rooms, partitioned into 10×10 and 12×10, and a container used for different illegal activities were discovered under the Dolphin Estate bridge.

In connection with the first discovery, WesternPost had reported that the Special Adviser to Governor, Kunle Rotimi-Akodu, revealed that, officials from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), had earlier on Tuesday, conducted an eviction operation, leading to the arrest of 23 individuals.

Rotimi-Akodu also reiterated that the law would be rigorously enforced to prevent further illegal settlements and potential hazards.
