BREAKING: Fire guts new NNPC depot in Apapa

A fire broke out on Friday afternoon, at the new terminal of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) in Apapa, Lagos, causing significant damage to parts of the facility.

Margaret Adeseye, Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, told journalists that the blaze began around 1 pm due to a petroleum product spillage within the tank farm perimeter.

She added that emergency services, including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and industry responders, were actively working to contain the fire.

Adeseye reassured the public that the situation is under control and that further updates will be provided as they become available.
