BREAKING: House of Reps stops electricity tariff increase

The House of Representatives on Tuesday ordered the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to halt the implementation of the new electricity rate for Band A users.

The resolution was adopted Tuesday during the lower House’s plenary session, following the adoption of a motion that addressed urgent public concern, sponsored by Nkemkanma Kama, a legislator representing the Labour Party (LP) from Ebonyi state.
