BREAKING: Lagos Assembly mourns as wife of Deputy Chief Whip dies 4days after death of Obasa’s father

Adenike Setonji-David, wife of the Deputy Chief Whip of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Setonji David has died four days after the death of the father of Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.

She died in the early hours of Saturday, 25 May, 2024, after a protracted illness.

According to a reliable source in the House, Adenike had been sick since last year before she eventually died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in the early hours of Saturday, 25 May, 2024.

She died at the age of 60.

A family source told  WESTERN POST on Sunday that the burial arrangements for the deceased would be announced soon.

Meanwhile,  WESTERN POST learnt that a delegation of the members of the House of Assembly led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Noheem Adams, has been directed by the leadership of the House to pay condolence visit to the lawmaker this morning (Sunday,) at his country home in Badagry.

David, who is a third term lawmaker representing Badagry 2, had served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security in the Ninth Assembly.

Currently, he serves as the Deputy Chief Whip of the House.

WESTERN POST had reported that Alhaji Sulaiman Obasa, father of the Lagos Assembly Speaker on Tuesday died at the age of 83.

He was buried on the same day while the final burial ceremony and eight day fidau prayers would take place on Tuesday, 28 May, 2024 at the NYSC Camp, Iyana Ipaja.
