Nigeria’s Super Eagles faltered in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifiers as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho at the Nest of Champions, Uyo on Thursday.
Motlomelo Mkwanazi put the Crocodiles ahead in the 56th minute from a corner kick, putting the ball past goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and defender Bright Osayi-Samuel who guided the far post.
The Eagles however drew level also through Semi Ajayi in the 67th.
They however couldn’t score the winning goal despite many attacks into the visitor’s penalty box to leave the Uyo fans disappointed.
