BREAKING: Supreme Court fixes Tuesday for judgment in Oyetola’s appeal against Adeleke’s election victory

The Supreme Court has fixed May 9 (tomorrow) for judgment on the appeal filed by former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, challenging the election victory of Ademola Adeleke.

The appeal seeks the reversal of the Court of Appeal’s March 25 judgment which affirmed Adeleke’s victory in the last governorship election in Osun State.

During Monday’s hearing, a five-member panel of the Supreme Court listened to arguments from lawyers to parties before announcing the judgment date.

If the appeal is upheld, Oyetola will be declared the winner of the election. However, if the appeal is dismissed, Adeleke will retain his position as the governor of Osun State.
