BREAKING: Tinubu accepts Wike’s invitation to commission projects in Rivers
President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has accepted the invitation of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to commission some projects in the state on Wednesday.
Wike had in a letter dated April 8, invited Tinubu to commission the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Flyover and, the new Magistrates’ Courts Complex on May 3 and May 4.
A source close to Tinubu confirmed the President-elect has accepted the invitation and will personally attend the events.
Wike had before the general elections also invited politicians from other political parties to commission projects in the state.
Some of these include Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, former All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Wike has been at loggerheads with the leadership of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party after Atiku Abubakar became its presidential candidate.
He and four other PDP governors known as the G5-Governors called for the stepping down of Iyorchia Ayu as the National Chairman.
They were eventuality believed to have worked against the interest of the party at the polls, with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom openly supporting Obi.
