Bye-Election: I’ve what it takes to make Surulere a better place, says LP candidate

The Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Surulere federal constituency 1 bye-election, Engr. Adeola Adebanjo, has boasted that he has the capacity to win the election and change the fortunes of the constituents for better.

WesternPost reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would be conducting a bye-election in the constituency on February 3, 2024, following the appointment of the former representative, Rt (Hon) Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking with journalists at a media parley on Saturday, Adebanjo said that his closeness to the grassroots would help in winning the election, adding that the interest of the constituents would be the centrepoint of his representation.

The United Kingdom trained engineer stated that the division in the party would not deter his victory, saying that talks were ongoing with other groups ahead of the bye-election.

He said that he would be bringing on board new knowledge and ideas that would impact the constituency, saying that he remains the face of new generation in Surulere.

Adebanjo stated that he would be focusing on youth empowerment if elected, saying that proper harness of youth strength would have positive impact on the society.

He promised to train more youths in technology and enterprenuership so as to boost the digital economy of the constituency, saying such would increase employment opportunities in the country.

The LP candidate promised to make health insurance scheme accessible to his constituents, saying that it would make quality healthcare affordable to all regardless of societal status.

” I have many things in stock for my constituents, most especially the youths. I will focus on job creation and youth employment, health care services, and education. Youths will be trained in technology and enterprenuership. With this, they can create more jobs for their fellow youths and reduce crime”, said Adebanjo.

He said that he would initiate ‘Surulere Sports Festival’ for the discovery of talents, adding that they would be exposed to opportunities that would better their life.
