Delta sets up committee to implement new Minimum Wage
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori today approved the creation of a committee to facilitate talks between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Delta State Government regarding the implementation of a new minimum wage for workers in the state.
The approval takes effect on August 15, 2024.
Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the Commissioner for Information, disclosed at a news conference held at the Government House in Asaba after the State’s Executive Council meeting.
According to Dr. Osuoza, Governor Oborevwori has instructed the Chief Job Creation Officer and the Commissioner for Agriculture to create initiatives aimed at lessening the effects of the current economic downturn.
