Democracy Day: FG announces Wednesday, June 12 as public holiday
The Federal Government has announced Wednesday, June 12 as a public holiday in honour of Democracy Day.
The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by Aishetu Ndayako, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2018, changed the date for celebrating Nigeria’s democracy from May 29 to June 12 in honour of Moshood Abiola believed to have won the annulled, highly controversial 1993 Presidential election.
