Ejigbo LCDA: Bamigbetan’s ‘kangaroo’ shadow election total violation of APC constitution – Group

A group, Concerned Loyalists to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Lekaansi, in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (Ejigbo LCDA) of Lagos State, has described the purported Mandate Movement primary election allegedly conducted by the former Council Chairman, Kehinde Bamigbetan, at his residence, as a “sham.”
A statement issued by Chief Rasheed Olanlope on behalf of the group on Sunday, asserted that the action not only undermines transparency and neutrality but also starkly contradicts LASIEC’s framework, which requires public, accessible, and officially sanctioned venues for electoral processes.
The group explained that the primary exercise was wholly scripted and executed by Bamigbetan, with zero consultation with ward executives or key stakeholders.
“There was no delegate list, no accreditation, and no semblance of due process. The process was an imposition, aimed at installing his personal loyalists against the collective will of party members.
“We therefore call on the party leadership to: nullify the fraudulent primary election conducted at his residence; enforce compliance with both APC and LASIEC guidelines in any future primary elections within Ejigbo LCDA; sanction and discipline Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan for anti-democratic conduct; disqualify all candidates emerging from the illegitimate exercise; and conduct fresh, free, and fair primaries in Ejigbo LCDA under the watch of credible party officials and neutral observers.
“Let it be known that if this sham of a primary election is allowed to stand, and Hon. Bamigbetan’s puppets are imposed as Chairman and Councillors, it will spell disaster for the APC in Ejigbo LCDA and Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency come 2027. The party risks mass defections, internal revolts, voter apathy, and electoral defeat.”
