Ekpo pledges steady gas supply to NASENI Abuja CNG project

Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. . Hon. . Ekperikpe Ekpo on Friday joined president Bola Tinubu represented by the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio; Ministers of Information and National Orientation and of Science and Technology, Mohammed Idris and Uche Nnaji respectively;

Chairman Senate Committee on NASENI, Francis Ezenwa; EVC/CEO of NASENI, Khalil Halilu @⁨NASENIAkilu⁩, among other dignitaries, to witness the presidential commissioning of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) All-in-One Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) reverse-engineering, training, filling and conversion centre in Utako, Abuja.

Ekpo in a speech at the event commended President Tinubu for the vision and commitment towards harnessing Nigeria’s gas potential for economic prosperity and utilisation by citizens.

The Minister who appreciated  NASENI for keying into the President’s dream for the gas sector, through their CNG project, assured of steady gas supply to sustain the initiative, saying running vehicles on gas was more economical and environmental friendly than petrol and diesel.

“I am here to declare my support to NASENI and to say that gas will be available for this project. We are keying into the dream of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Ekpo said.

“When Mr. President closed out on oil subsidy, people were shouting how are we going to make it, but today we have to appreciate Mr. President for that bold initiative because he saw into the future, because he knows that effective gas utilisation is the way to go for Nigeria…I want to encourage our people  to covert from petrol to CNG,” he added.

Ekpo appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu saying the dividends of his reforms and economic programmes would soon accrue to all.
