EXCLUSIVE: PDP plans civic engagement series for Atiku at Chatham House

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is planning a civic engagement series for its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar at Chatham House in London, United Kingdom.
The party in a letter by National Chair Diasporans for PDP, Mrs Victoria Pamugo wrote to book the venue for the event.
According to the letter, the party plans the event for October this year.
The entire leadership of PDP is primed to attend the event as part of the strategy to build international profile for Atiku and also globalise his campaign to lead Nigeria.
Those meant to be in attendance are Atiku, the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, National Secretary Emeka Anyanwu and Chairman Board of Trustees Waheed Jubrin.
Others are former Senate Presidents, Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim and Delta and Sokoto State governors, Ifeanyi Okowa and Aminu Tambuwal, minority leaders of both chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Phillip Aduda and Hon. Ndidi Elumelu and former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha.
Also expected at the event are the party’s National Women Leader, Professor Stella Effah-Attoe, Deputy National Women Leader, Hajia Hajara Wanka, National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba and National Youth Leader, Mohammed Kadade Suleiman.
According to the letter, the event which is tagged a flagship event of the Diasporans for PDP “is dedicated to promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.”
“I write to reserve one of your halls to host our upcoming Civic Engagement Series at Chatham House in London.
“We plan to hold the event on Saturday, October 8th, 15th, or 22nd, depending on availability of space in your facility.
“The Civic Engagement Series is the flagship event of Diasporans for PDP. It is dedicated to promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria. The event is organized twice in a year. It features political leaders and speakers on economic, political and social issues that affect voters in Nigeria.
“Diasporans for PDP is a registered non-profit organization based in the United States of America. Our members are drawn from various countries including but not limited to Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States of America. We are united by our desire to help build a better, safer, stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” the letter reads in part.
