Exodus hits Tambuwal’s govt as deputy, Chief of Staff, SSG, 10 commissioners resign

A massive exodus has hit the administration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State with the resignation of his deputy, Chief of Staff, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and 10 commissioners.

Their resignation may not be unconnected with their desire to contest for elective position in 2023.

The deputy governor, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, was in charge of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The commissioners who tendered their resignation letters include Abdussamad Dasuki (Finance), Sagir Bafarawa (Environment), Bashir Gorau (Youths and Sports), Aminu Bala Bodinga (Lands and Housing) and Col. Garba Moyi (rtd) (Careers and Security).

Others are Bashir Gidado (Commerce), Salihu Maidaji (Works), Shuaibu Gwanda Gobir (Water Resources), Abubakar Maikudi Ahmad (Solid Minerals), Abdullahi Maigwandu (Religious Affairs), along with the SSG, Mallam Sa’idu Umar and the Chief of Staff, Mukhtar Umar Magori.
