FAAN promotes Acting Public Affairs, Protocol heads to General Manager positions

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the promotion of Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Nwosu-Igbo and Mrs. Christabel Ebanehita Eromosele to the roles of General Manager, Public Affairs and General Manager, Protocol and Passages, respectively.

According to a recent disclosure by FAAN’s Directorate of Public Procurement and Consumer Protection department, the appointments, effective from June 2024, were confirmed following brilliant performances by the duo in the mandatory management promotion examinations.

Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo and Mrs. Eromosele have both played pivotal roles in the Public Affairs department of FAAN, contributing significantly to the agency’s image and reputation. Their leadership has helped position FAAN as a leading airport management organization in Africa.

Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo, who has been serving in an acting capacity since December 2023, has been a dedicated member of FAAN since 2002 when she joined as a Senior Public Affairs Officer on grade level 10. A 1987 graduate of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, she also holds a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, and an MBA from the University of Calabar.

A seasoned public relations practitioner, Nwosu-Igbo is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and has gained extensive experience through various professional training programs both locally and internationally. She is also known for her contributions as the Managing Editor of FAAN’s in-house publication, NEWSTRACK, since 2018. Beyond her professional achievements, she is an accomplished singer and choral performer, having showcased her talents both locally and internationally.

Similarly, Mrs. Christabel Eromosele has been confirmed as the substantive General Manager of the Protocol and Passages Department after acting in the role since January 2024. A 1991 graduate of English Language from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, she also holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos.

Eromosele began her career at FAAN in 1993 as a Grade Level 8 officer in the Public Affairs department. Her dedication and professionalism have been instrumental in her rise through the ranks. She is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria, the Council for International Protocol Professionals, and the Association of Certified Protocol Professionals in Nigeria.

Throughout her career, Eromosele has been an active participant in various management committees, including the FAAN National Aviation Committee and the ACI International Conference Planning Committee. She has also attended numerous training programs, such as the Public Relations Theory and Practice Course in London, the Business Leadership and Diplomatic Protocol Course at the European School of Protocol, and the African Public Relations Association’s Conference in Kigali.
