FCSC denounces fake recruitment shortlist, warns public against fraud

By Kunle Sanni

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has disassociated itself from a fake recruitment shortlist currently circulating on social media and various online platforms.

In an official statement, the Commission clarified that the purported shortlist — allegedly linked to the FCSC recruitment exercise that closed on March 17, 2025 — is fictitious and did not originate from the Commission.

“The information contained in the publication did not emanate from the Commission,” the statement read. “Those online publications are false and should be disregarded.”

The FCSC also cautioned the public to beware of fraudulent recruitment syndicates and individuals who demand payment from unsuspecting applicants. The Commission emphasized that it does not—and will never—require any form of payment from shortlisted candidates.

The statement added that once the official shortlist is finalized, successful candidates will be informed through the Commission’s official website (www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng) and other verified media channels.
