Femi Odugbemi joins International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences

Content creator and ace storyteller, Femi Odugbemi has been elected as member of the US-based International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
With this membership of the academy, Odugbemi becomes one of the few Africans to vote in both Oscars and Emmy academies.
Odugbemi some years back had been inducted into Oscars as one of the voting members.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which is based in the United States is an American organisation founded to recognize excellence in television programming produced outside the US.
The organisation is also the organisers of the New York-based International Emmy Awards and the International Emmy Kids Awards.
In a congratulatory letter sent September 29 to Odugbemi, the appointment is yet another international recognition for contribution of the ace documentary filmmaker, photographer, and Co-Founder/Executive Director of the 13-year-old IREPRESENT International Documentary Film Forum/Festival.
Odugbemi, since 2018, has been a Voting Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) – of the OSCARS; a status he shares with very few highly revered members of the Nigerian motion picture family.
The election into the prestigious Emmy membership makes him one of the rare professionals in the motion picture industry in Africa to enjoy the rare privilege of being elected to both international Academies of Film and of TV.
THE appointment is yet another addition to the success of Odugbemi. It comes at a time the ace Documentary film producer and media culture intellectual, just birth yet another Television drama arsenal.
Covenant, a new TV series had debuted on October 3 on the pan-African screen, Africa Magic Showcase.
The new series, starring in the lead such popular actors as Antar Laniyan, Clarion Chukwurah, Funsho Adeolu, Shaffy Bello, Nonso Bassey, Linda Ejiofor.
Odugbemi is currently Managing Director/CEO of ZURI24 Media, a content production and management company.
