FG moves to end crude oil theft, says Uzodimma

The federal Government is taking steps to stop the illegal extraction of crude oil in Nigeria, which has cost the country billions of dollars in lost revenue.

This was disclosed by Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo state and the head of the NEC sub-committee on crude oil theft prevention, after meeting with Vice-President Kashima Shettima in Abuja on Thursday.

Uzodinma told reporters that he updated the vice-president on the committee’s efforts to curb the menace of oil theft.

He said: “We had a very positive discussion. It is still a work in progress. At the end of the day, we are going to bring a final solution to this monster called crude oil theft.”
