FG targets 2025 for completion of Kano-Kastina-Maradi rail project

The Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Alkali, has announced that the first segment of the 387km Kano-Maradi rail project will be completed in 2025.

He disclosed this Friday via a post on X, (formally known as twitter).

Alkali stated this during an inspection tour of on-going Kano-Maradi &  Kano-Kaduna rail modernization projects.

He said, “We came all the way from Kano, we drove on the formation that they did, they are doing the earthwork and the culvert and this is a station where they have started preparing the rail lines and the slippers so that they will use their locomotive to convey materials on the rail line.”

He disclosed this was his second leg of inspection to Kano since assumption of office.

He outlined the inspection as critical to ensure compliance and adherence in terms of time and contractual specifications.
