FIFA rankings: Nigeria climbs in world rankings, drops in Africa

Nigeria moved up a step on the world stage but dropped out of the top five in Africa in the latest FIFA rankings.
The world football governing body released its rankings, and Nigeria climbed from 44th to 43rd in the world.
In contrast, the three-time Afcon champions dropped out of Africa’s top five teams, slipping to the sixth position.
According to the rankings, Morocco is rated number one in Africa, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Ivory Coast in that order.
Nigeria is ranked seventh, with Tunisia in eighth, Cameroon in ninth, and Mali and South Africa in 10th and 11th positions.
