Former Lagos PDP chairman, Segun Adewale defects to APC

A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Chief Segun Adewale, has announced his decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adewale, also known as “Aeroland”, declared his move at a news conference in Lagos on Saturday.

Adewale explained that he joined the APC to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and not to pursue electoral goals for the 2027 elections.

His decision to join the APC follows Adewale’s indefinite suspension from the PDP in Alimosho Local Government Area, where he was charged with undermining the party’s reputation and sowing discord.

However, Adewale said he was suspended for disclosing improper use of campaign funds in the 2023 elections.

He condemned the PDP leadership for what he described as unconstitutional acts, noting that only Atiku Abubakar’s influence had kept him in the PDP till the 2023 elections.
