Gov. Adeleke reaffirms commitment to development of state, declares self as Asiwaju of Osun State

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke  has been installed as the Asiwaju Of Ede land by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa 1, declaring self as ‘Asiwaju of Osun State’.

Adeleke who spoke immediately after his installation at the Timi’s palace, reiterated his determination to bring unprecedented development to the State.

He said:  “I vow to be a frontliner (Asiwaju) of development and growth for Edeland and Osun State as a whole. I will carry the light of positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across our dear State.

“To all Asiwaju title holders of various towns in Osun State, I welcome myself into your midst. On a lighter mood, I believe you are eager to receive me not just as the Asiwaju of Edeland but as the Asiwaju of Osun State.

“Dear friends and associates, your presence today strengthens my resolve to further devote myself to the service of the people. you will continue to find in me a true peoples’ servant, a good listener and an agent of good governance.

“As I assume this new role, I seek the cooperation, prayers and support of all and sundry for our dedication to take osun to a greater height. Friends at home and abroad, join us as we intensely deliver dividends of democracy.

“As I am accepting the title of asiwaju of Edeland today before God and man, I dedicate it to my late father and mother; to my late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke; to my big brother, Dr Adedeji Adeleke; and to my darling sister, the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief Dupe Adeleke-sanni”

Speaking on behalf of all the Governors, Makinde, who is the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, who congratulated the newly installed Asiwaju of Ede, commended Adeleke for the infrastructural development going on in the state.

According to him “I thank God for my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke. When he came in as the governor of Osun State, he challenged me that he would compete with me with infrastructure as I am doing in Oyo State, when I came today I have seen that work is ongoing in the state.”

It will be recalled that former Governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adeleke, who was the brother of the incumbent Governor of the state who passed on in 2017 was the immediate past Asiwaju of Edeland.

Meanwhile, the conferment of the chieftaincy title coincide with the 64th birthday of the Governor.

Dignitaries at the event are: the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, former Governors of Oyo, Rasheed Ladoja and Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, acting PDP national chairman, Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Makama Oyelude, Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin and a hosts of others.
