Gunmen kidnap mother, child in Osun, demand N5m ransom

A mother and her child were on Tuesday kidnapped by gunmen in Osun State.

It was gathered that the victim, Mrs. Olayinka Tosin Kayode and her child were kidnapped around 6pm at Otaefun/Kobongboe area, while returning from her shop situated around the same axis.

The victim is said to be one of the teachers in the Teenagers’ Ministry of Union Baptist Church, Odi-Olowo, Osogbo.

The Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. Dr. Sunday Adediwura Adeoye, in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the church, Mr. Oluwamayowa Fagbohungbe, said the abductors have reached out to the husband of the victim, Mr. Kayode Abayomi, demanding N5million ransom.

The kidnappers requested that the ransom be transferred to them through the account of his wife in their custody.

Rev. Dr. Adeoye said: “We solicit for the continued prayers and supports of all and sundry while we believe in God Almighty that Mrs. Olayinka Tosin Kayode and her child will regain their freedom and be reunited with their family and the Church of God soon.”
