High Chief Lekan Alabi gets merit award from University of the Third Age

High Chief Lekan Alabi is set for fresh honours on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 as the University of the Third Age will bestow on him, a merit award in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The honours will be conducted by the University of the Third Age Nigeria, one of the affiliates of the International Association of the 3rd Age Universities with headquarters in Toulouse, France.

The ceremony, according to the institution, will be held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo state.

Chief Alabi’s honours is in line with the celebration of the institution’s golden anniversary. This is coming as the second honourary doctorate degree after the Achievers University in Owo, Ondo State bestowed him with the Honourary Doctor of Letters December 11, 2013.

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is an international movement whose aims are the education and stimulation of mainly retired members of the community — those in their third ‘age’ of life.
