I do Juju, says Seun Kuti

41-year-old Seun Kuti, the youngest son of legendary Afrobeat godfather Fela Kuti, has declared that he engages in Juju, the traditional African religion popularly known as voodoo.

The Afrobeat singer made this known in a recent chat with reality TV star Phyna on her podcast.

“It was my family that started the Anglican side of Christianity in this country. If you look back at it, we are among the pioneers. So, we’ve been there, we’ve done that and we’ve moved on. And we hope Africans can follow suit.”

When probed further if he still attends church services, Kuti said he’s now into Juju and doesn’t attend any church or services any more.

“Now, na juju I dey do,” he blurted.
In 2023, Seun Kuti was arrested and detained by the Police after he was charged for assaulting a police officer.
