IGP breaks ground for construction of police officers’ quarters in Abuja

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a police officers’ quarters at Zone 6, Wuse, Abuja.
The event was held on Wednesday, and was attended by senior police officers and dignitaries from various sectors of society.
The project, which is being coordinated and managed by the Nigeria Police Force under the auspices of the Nigeria Police Properties Limited, will cover an area of 4.5 hectares and comprise 50 terraces of bungalows, a clubhouse, and a state-of-the-art sports complex with modern facilities and structures.
Speaking at the occasion, the IGP emphasized his administration’s commitment to the welfare of police officers, noting that his desire was to create a Police Force with suitable accommodations for its personnel.
He further stated that various large-scale barrack projects are currently underway and will continue to be implemented under his leadership.
