IKEDC reduces tariffs for Band A customers

The Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) has implemented a reduction in electricity tariffs for its Band A customers.

The new rates decreased from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh, as sanctioned by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The company’s management had released a circular prior to the implementation date, confirming the revised rates and assuring Band A customers of a consistent electricity supply, with promises of 20 to 24 hours of daily service.

This move emphasized Ikeja Electric’s commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction and ensuring more affordable access to electricity.

However, the circular also noted that tariffs for customers in Bands B, C, D, and E would remain unchanged, without providing specific reasons for maintaining the current rates for these categories.

The circular addressed to customers stated: “Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24 hours supply daily. The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”

Ikeja Electric Plc, recognized as Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company, serves customers across the northern part of Lagos State and parts of Ogun State.
