Jonathan commissions 1.15km bridge, access roads in Akwa Ibom

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday commissioned a bridge and access roads in Akwa Ibom State.

The former President and his wife, Patience were in the state as guests of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Speaking on the bridge which he said is the longest bridge project to be undertaken by a state government in Nigeria, Governor Udom thanked Jonathan and his wife for coming to his state to celebrate the feat with the people.

“I sincerely appreciate our leader, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and our former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan for the honour of coming to inaugurate our new 1.15km bridge and the access roads in Afi – Uko Ntighe – Uda communities of Mbo Local Government Area.

“Our appreciation also goes to all the distinguished guests who came to identify with us on this historic occasion.

“When we embarked on this project in 2018, I did not know it will turn out to be the longest bridge constructed by a State Government in Nigeria. My prayer is that God will grant us the Grace to continue meeting the expectations of our people,” he said.
