JUST IN: Tinubu in closed-door meeting with APC governors in Aso Villa

The governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), are currently meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Aso Villa, Abuja.

The governors who arrived at the State House forecourt at about 1 pm were led by the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Also in attendance is the reinstated deputy governor of Edo State Philip Shaibu who was impeached by the state house of assembly following the soured relationship with Governor Godwin Obaseki of the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Last week the Federal High Court in Abuja reinstated Shaibu as the Deputy Governor of Edo State

In the judgement, Justice Omotoso declared the impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly as illegal, unconstitutional, null, and void.

On Saturday, Shaibu officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party.
