Kwara Police beef up security ahead Christmas celebration

Kwara State Police Command has imposed some security measures, which include massive deployments of men and materials in and around public utilities and all government’s assets, aggressive motorized and foot patrols, stop and search operations, and continuous raids on black spots ahead of Christmas day celebration.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi on Tuesday.

Okasanmi disclosed that all assets, both men and materials, available to the command have been activated to ensure that the Command’s security plans for the celebrations are achieved.

The Police image maker assure the people  of the readiness of the Force to ensure peaceful and enjoyable Christmas celebrations throughout the length and breadth of the state.

The command however solicited for the cooperation and understanding of all and sundry in making this a reality.

This could be done by reporting any suspicious movements in and around our environments to the police and giving information to the police at all times.

The state Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, while congratulating the Christian faithful in the state, enjoins them to celebrate moderately, as only the living do. 

Odama urged them to avoid driving recklessly, obeying all traffic rules and laws, and praying for the sustainability of peace in the state.
