KWASIEC extends submission of nomination forms date for upcoming LG polls

The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) has announced a new schedule for the submission of nomination forms for the upcoming Chairmanship and Councilorship elections. 

This decision, made in response to appeals from various political parties seeking more time for their primaries, was communicated through a statement signed by KWASIEC Chairman, Baba Okanla in Ilorin on Wednesday. 

Initially set for July 1st to July 5th, 2024, the commission disclosed the dates have now been moved to July 8th through to the 12th.

“Consequent upon the appeals by different political parties which necessitated the extension of parties’ political primaries, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission hereby notify the general public that the obtaining and returning of Nomination forms KWSIEC 01 and KWSIEC 02 for Chairmanship and Councilorship Elections is now Monday, July 8th – Friday, July 12th, 2024,” the statement read.

KWASIEC further assured the public that any further adjustments to the election timeline will be communicated as necessary.
