Lagos announces increase in 2024 Hajj fare

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced an increase in the Hajj fare for 2024.

A statement by the Secretary of the board, Mr Waheed Onipede stated that with the increment by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), “intending pilgrims who had already paid ₦4, 899,000.00 are to add ₦1,918,032.91k while fresh applicants are to pay ₦8,454,464.74k outrightly on or before the close of work on Wednesday 27th March 2024 which is the deadline.

“Intending pilgrims who wish to pay the increment/fresh applicants are advised to raise their Bank draft from either Guaranteed Trust  Bank (GTB) or Zenith Bank for ease of transaction,” the statement read.

The statement urges intending pilgrims who would like to withdraw their intention to write and request a refund of their money or defer their intention until 2025.
