Lagos Politics: TMM swears in LGA Directors as Ejigbo APC Chieftains congratulate Ojo

A political caucus in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, The Mandate Movement (TMM) has sworn in its Directors in the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

The inauguration which was held at its headquarters in Ikeja, had in attendance the National Chairman of the group and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Cardinal James Odunmbaku, former Deputy Speakers of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Taiwo, Hon (Mrs) Funmilayo Tejusoho, amongst others.

Speaking on the appointment of Alhaji Kola Ojo as Ejigbo Mandate Director, Cardinal Odunmbaku (Baba Eto) described him as a veteran grassroots influencer who understands grassroots politics.

He expressed his admiration on the choice of Alhaji Kola Ojo, saying “Honestly, the choice of Alhaji Kolawole Ojo is a welcome development particularly as Ejigbo LCDA is known to be amongst the strongholds of the Mandate Movement. He is a round peg in a round hole. Ojo is a chip off the old block. This is well deserved”.

Meanwhile, some Ejigbo APC Chieftains have congratulated Ojo on his appointment.

The Personal Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Chief of Staff, Peter Ajayi, urged Alhaji Kola Ojo to make good use of his experiences in the running of the group.

Ajayi urged him to run an all inclusive leadership, adding “It is your duty to embark on wide consultations amongst stakeholders, reconcile with different groups and bring them to the fold”

Another APC Chieftain, Mr. Bayo Okunlola, congratulated him, saying ” This appointment nipped it in the bud. This is quite amazing and decisive. Alhaji Kola Ojo is a great personality, in this regard. I Congratulate him”.

In his congratulatory message, Mr. Lanre Okanlawon (Cappo) asserted that Ojo deserves the appointment, saying that his vast political experience ranks him the best man for the job.

The former Leader of the Legislative Arm, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Taningbola Murtala Oladele, said “I congratulate Alhaji Kolawole Ojo on his appointment and consequent swearing in as the Ejigbo LGA Director of The Mandate Movement alongside his counterparts across the 57 LGAs. He is loved and respected by the majority”

In his own reaction, the pioneer Councillor of Ifoshi Ward, Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Lekan Musa, described him ” great party mobilizer and humble personality”.

Musa added “The appointment of Alhaji Kola Ojo as the new LGA Director of The Mandate Movement, Ejigbo LCDA is no doubt a good omen and it signals quality and capacity to deliver the much desired dividends of democracy”.

Thanking the leadership of the group, Ojo expressed his overwhelming gratitude to the Board of Trustees and Apex leadership for considering him worthy.

He promised to abide by the movement guidelines.

“I am short of words. Praises be to Allah. I appreciate the Board of Trustees and particularly the Apex leadership of The Mandate Movement in Lagos State for the consideration. I pledge and promise to ensure openness, transparency and accountability as the anchor of The Mandate Movement”.
