One Bola Abiodun, said to be a landlady and her husband, identified as Sunday, have fled their residence in Temidire community, Ogun State, following accusations of disposing of their tenant’s body in a nearby canal.

The incident, which is said to have transpired around 12:05 pm last Wednesday, prompted a swift response from the state police command, initiating a manhunt for the couple.

According to police sources, the tenant, known as Iya Ibukun, was reportedly struck by a hit-and-run driver on May 5, 2024.

However, despite sustaining injuries, Ibukun opted for self-medication due to financial constraints. Tragically, she passed away a few days later within her apartment.

Following her demise, allegations arose that the landlady and her spouse removed the deceased’s body from the premises and disposed of it in a canal nearby.

Upon suspicion from residents, the Community Development Association chairman, Mosuru Akindele, and youth leader, Olabode Kazeem, were notified.

Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and assured efforts to retrieve the body from the canal.

This occurrence evokes memories of a similar incident years ago, involving a landlord named Sunday Omosule, who was apprehended for allegedly killing his tenant’s child under bizarre circumstances.
