LASG to unveil school feeding programme in public schools

…distributes N1bn to 1,681 residents as financial assistance

The Lagos State Government has said school feeding programme will be launched across public schools soon.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Tajudeen, disclosed this made on Monday, during the ongoing Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate the first anniversary of the second term of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in office, held at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Tajudeen added ,”The Sanwo-Olu Listens Programme, a social welfare programme designed to provide financial assistance to vulnerable citizens in Lagos State has been sustained for five consecutive years.

“It’s a fact that Lagos State is not immune from the ever increasing poverty rate in Nigeria, hence the government of Sanwo-Olu, cognisance of this unpalatable trend has therefore taken necessary steps in providing support to the citizens to help reduce poverty.

“During the period under review 1,681 vulnerable residents of Lagos State have received the sum of N1 billion as financial assistance in one of the other.”
