Man lands in Police net over alleged impersonation

The Nigerian Police Force ( NPF) has arrested one Garba Umar, 38, of Sokoto State origin, for alleged cases of conspiracy, impersonation and job racketeering.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known in a post via his official X handle, on Friday.

The suspect who is accused of impersonating the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police and duping scores of unsuspecting Nigerians was paraded today at the Force Head Quarters on Friday.

ACP Adejobi further advised the public to be wary of the antics of “criminally minded individuals” in the society.

He wrote: “Mr Garba Umar, 38, of Sokoto State, paraded today at the FHQ for conspiracy, impersonation, job racketeering, etc.

“He impersonated to be an Assistant Commissioner of Police and duped many unsuspecting Nigerians.

“We will always advise Nigerians against the antics of these criminally minded individuals in this country. Dont be exposed to their dirty games.”
