Ministry of Education unveils Mascot for 4th edition of FEDUGAM

The Federal Ministry of Education has proudly unveiled the mascot for the 4th edition of the Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM), dubbed “FEDUGAM-Bauchi 2024,” during a grand ceremony held in Abuja.

The event saw the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, represented by the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu, who delivered the keynote address.

In his speech, Dr. Sununu conveyed Prof. Mamman’s heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their steadfast support and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s education sector. He emphasized the significance of FEDUGAM as a platform to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community spirit among educators, administrators, students, and staff.

The newly unveiled mascot symbolizes the values of physical fitness, teamwork, perseverance, and fair play, aiming to inspire participants throughout the games.

Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, emphasized the importance of the games in promoting unity, friendship, fitness, and mental alertness among Ministry and Agency staff.

She expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event and encouraged participants to compete with integrity and enjoy the games.

Omotayo F. Adeyemi, Chairman of the FEDUGAM Steering Committee, welcomed attendees and acknowledged the Honourable Minister and other dignitaries for their presence despite busy schedules.

He highlighted the mascot’s role in embodying the spirit of the games and thanked the organizing committee for their relentless efforts. Adeyemi called for broad support from ministry agencies, corporate organizations, and partners to ensure the success of FEDUGAM Bauchi 2024.

Scheduled to take place from August 3-10, 2024, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi State, FEDUGAM Bauchi 2024 aims to celebrate educational achievements and foster unity within the sector. The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, will graciously host and support the event.

As the games approach, the entire Ministry stands united in support, echoing the spirit of the newly unveiled mascot.

The event promises to be a celebration of shared achievements and a step towards a brighter future for Nigeria’s education sector.
