Mohammed Abacha is Kano PDP guber candidate, court rules
The Federal High Court sitting in Kano has ruled that the son of former military ruler, Mohammed Abacha is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano State.
Justice A.M Liman gave the ruling on Thursday.
He nullified the party’s primary which produced Sadik Amunu Wali as the PDP candidate.
He also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to replace Wali’s name with that of Abacha immediately.
Abacha had asked that the court declare him the winner of the primary lawfully conducted by the PDP and certified by INEC in Kano.
He said that based on the Electoral Act 2022, he had scored the highest number of votes in the election held on May 25.
