Multiple crashes as vehicles collide on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

A chaotic scene unfolded along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday as a multiple-vehicle accident involving five cars and a BRT bus brought traffic to a standstill.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed this via a post shared alongside a video on its social media platform, revealing the extensive damage caused by the collision.

The incident occurred at NNPC, inwards Estate Alapere, resulting in a significant backlog of traffic extending to the Ogudu axis of the area.

“A multiple auto crash involving six vehicles including a BRT bus has occurred at NNPC, inwards Estate Alapere on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

“The resultant backlog of traffic is now at Ogudu.” LASTMA’s post read.

According to LASTMA, officers were swiftly dispatched to the scene to facilitate the movement of other motorists and commence clearing operations.

While the cause of the accident and casualty report remain undisclosed, efforts are underway to restore normalcy to the affected area.
